The Problem
There was a need for fictitious props to be created for Pixar Animation Studios. It was decided that Pixar's Ratatouille could have a potential sequel and the props would be created for that film. It was essential for each prop to stay true to Pixar's style.
Target Audience & Objective
The target audience are those who wish to see a sequel for Ratatouille and want to see detailed props that could appear in it. The objective was to create props that could easily be seen in this potential film.
Timeline
This project was completed in the span of four weeks.
Sketches, Greyscale, & Color Drafts
The art style each prop would be in is Pixar's pastel-based concept development pieces for Ratatouille. Inspiration was taken from various traditional French dishes to create an accurate depiction of dishes that could be served at Alfredo Linguini and Remy's new restaurant. Vintage chairs and couches from the 1920's were used as references for a potential prop for Mabel, the elderly woman seen in the beginning of the film, as her previous home was destroyed by a rat infestation. Lamps from the 1970's were used for inspiration for potential light fixtures in the new restaurant as the original movie had numerous props from the 1970's.
